September 10, 2011 Annual Smooth Jazz Concert in Central Park. This event is the annual tradition to raise money for autism and other causes. Tickets are $45 lawn seating, $90 chair seat behind table section, $130 Festival VIP Gold, and $185 VIP Platinum which includes table seating, two drink tickets, food and best seating. The acts in 2011 are: Brian Simpson Elan Trotman, Kindred the Family Soul, Marion Meadows, Paul Taylor, Rachelle Ferrell, The Tony Rich Project, Tim Bowman and Warren Hill. Senior Saturday - a Vendor Expo at Pier Plaza includes live entertainment, vendor booths, information about health and senior services issues, and a festive, outdoor atmosphere for all ages to enjoy. The event is hosted by the Council On Aging.

Oktoberfest - Adults only night at Old World Village. Dance, eat, drink be merry at this annual German tradition. A massive carnivale atmosphere of adult dancing, beads, foods and beverages from around the globe. Time: 6:30 - 1 a.m. age 21+ only. Cover: $15. The Miss Firecracker Contest, play. The Miss Firecracker Contest is a two-act play made into a movie with Holly Hunter, who played the part of Carnelle, an irrepressible young woman who thinks that winning the local beauty contest will restore her soiled reputation and make her somebody in her small Mississippi community. Carnelle has a promiscuous past that might keep her from winning. Location: 7111 Talbert Ave., Huntington Beach, CA. Box office: (714) 375-0696.

Surfrider Beach Clean Up at Santa Ana River Jetty (Huntington State Beach). 8 a.m. to Noon.

Classic Car Saturdays. Every Saturday Night It's all about the cars. No registration fees. Lots of free parking, open to all car enthusiasts. Trophies awarded each week. Free spectator admission. Ride the Next Wave Festival - at AES 2nd annual open house festival. where the fun will include plant tours, free food, giveaways, music and much more. The event is free to the public. For safety, visitors must wear closed-toe shoes when taking a plant tour. No flip-flops, sandals, or high-heels. No exceptions. Time: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the AES Huntington Beach generating facility located at 21730 Newland Street, Huntington Beach, CA. Cost: Free.
