December 4, 2004 Saturday Car Cruisers known as the Donuts Derelicts is a group of car collectors that meet at Adams Avenue Donuts parking lot to share Hot Rods, Street Cars, Woodies, Imports and a variety of restored vehicles at Adams and Magnolia Ave. The Saturday Sunrise Car Show is a loosely organized club of car owners who have been meeting for over 20 years to share the love of cars. The public is invited. Often children are allowed to sit in a hot rod or classic car (with the owner's permission) to turn the steering wheel and enjoy the look and feel of a unique vehicle. Parking is available in the Ace parking lot or Adams Avenue Donut Shop with overflow parking extending to Drug Emporium lot across Adams. Be mindful of the neighborhood and nearby residents sleeping at this early hour. Time 6 a.m., over by approx. 8:30 a.m. No phone number available. Cost: Free admission.

December 4, 2004 Bolsa Chica Wetlands free public tour given by Bolsa Chica Foundation begin on a walkbridge over the wetlands and along part of the 1&1/2 mile loop trail that encircles the Ecological Reserve. Free public tours are offered for individuals the first Saturday of the month year-round. Visitors who arrive between 9 and 10:30 am will be lead on a 1 1/2 hour tour which makes 5 stops along the walkbridge and loop trail. Trained tour guides discuss bird identification, ecology, endangered species, early history and current status. Displays, literature, and merchandise are available in the parking lot. No reservations are required for the public tour. Warm clothing and binoculars are recommended. December 4, 2004 Snowflakes light up the Huntington Beach Pier and Main Street through New Year's Day. Approximately 84 artificial snowflakes strewn with twinkling lights adorn downtown Huntington Beach. They are a delight to see. There are 48 on the pier and 36 stretching along Main Street from Pacific Coast Highway to Orange Avenue. Traditionally placed along Main Street with corporate sponsorship plaques attached to them, funding cuts have changed the procedure this year.
